Welcome

Chelmondiston Church of England Primary School

Chelmondiston is a small village, situated to the south east of Ipswich. Children come to school form both Chelmondiston and surrounding villages as well as from outside our catchment area.

The school has 112 pupils on roll at present. The school has both hard and grass play areas which retain the features of a friendly family garden.

The school has a very active PTA and Governing Body. Both support the school in specific roles with the PTA organising both social and fundraising activities, which are well supported by families and staff. The Governors meet regularly to discuss strategic issues about the safe and effective leadership of the school and are actively involved in school life and in monitoring and supporting our teaching.

The church and school work closely together, focusing on the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all members of the school community. Daily acts of worship and sharing assemblies are important for sustaining and developing the ethos of the school.

Our School Council discusses on a regular basis, the issues that are important to the various classes. We try to act upon children's suggestions whenever possible.

We consider it important to work closely with all members of the community - children, parents, staff, governors, the church and friends of the school.

On the 1st July, 2017, the school became part of the St Edmundsbury and Ipswich Diocesan Multi Academy Trust. We are delighted to be a part of this vibrant and exciting group of schools and we look forward to a future where our school and go from strength to strength.
