Forest Schools
At Chelmondiston CEPS we place much importance on outdoor learning and are proud of our commitment to developing our pupils' curiosity, confidence and knowledge of the environment - in our school grounds, of our wider surroundings and further afield as custodians of the future. Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process, that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular outdoor sessions. It is a programme that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.
Miss Clarke is our Forest School leader. We are delighted that we will be continuing our programme of Forest Schools this year and feel that more than ever, our pupils will gain so much from the experience. Melissa will be the first class to participate in November (2020).
The sessions are either run in the woods on our school grounds or we walk to the woods at Pin Mill. We always need additional parents to help run these valuable sessions. Please contact Miss Clarke if you are able to support us. All parents who support us will need to have a volunteer DBS certificate and this can be arranged, free of charge, at the school office.
