Behaviour

At our school, children are taught in a nurturing Christian environment. Our School Values -  resilience, equality, courage, learning and caring -

form part of how we communicate among ourselves and they link to all aspects of school life. We encourage our pupils to develop self-discipline, show respect, courtesy, consideration and empathy towards others.

Each class agrees on its own set of rules which are displayed in each classroom. As well as this, we have three clear rules which apply to all aspects of school life:

  1. Respect others
  2. Be ready to learn
  3. Follow instructions quickly

We have a range of reward systems, including our four houses based on the seasons, certificates which celebrate achievements and our school values as well as having individual class rewards.

Where sanctions are necessary, the school operates green, amber and red zones and pupils may be removed to work away from the class and to reflect on their behaviour. Pupils are supported and encouraged to take responsibility for their actions and to learn from their mistakes.

Where a child’s behaviour becomes cause for concern the school will work closely with the parents and the child on the development of a plan to improve behaviour.

Bullying of any form is not tolerated and we work hard with pupils in PSHE, assemblies and other times to teach children how to develop positive relationships with each other.

At Chelmondiston CE Primary School we promote open and respectful relationships between staff and pupils and encourage pupils to discuss any concerns with an adult. The adult will follow school procedures in dealing with concerns.

Our Behaviour Policy is under the Information tab - Policies.
