Action packed return of Sports Day to Chelmo!
We enjoyed a fun and action packed sports day today!
Year 6 pupils led the morning activities for KS2 and were an absolute credit to our school by ensuring all pupils could take part and enjoy the activities they had organised.
In the afternoon, families enjoyed picnics on our grounds and once again this term, it was wonderful to be so well supported with such a great turn out. The PTA provided refreshments through out the afternoon.
After lunch, the Y6 house captains led out our 4 teams of excited competitors and the races began.
Children competed in obstacle, relay and sprint races. Our younger pupils should be commended for getting 'stuck in' and participating in, at times, difficult challenges - especially as this was their first ever sports day. This positive spirit of eager participation and determination by our pupils was evident through out the afternoon. It helped that our spectators enthusiastically clapped and cheered for everyone for taking part.
Our school values were celebrated at the end; Y6 leaders nominated pupils to receive certificates for showing our school values of being respectful, equal, caring, courageous and resilient.
Spring team won with Winter hot on their heels.
