We've continued our focus on Outdoor Learning. Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed our Forest Schools activities. All Y5 and Y6 pupils completed Bikeability and we planted winter vegetables and spring bulbs.
This morning PSCOs Craig and Ellie visited Year 6s. They shared important information to help pupils make good choices as they are getting older and taking more responsibility. Children discussed the fact that children have criminal responsibility from the age of 10 and how a criminal record can have an impact for the future.
Children learnt the importance of using mobiles safely, which included downloading the 'What 3 Words' app (to ensure you can be found if you are lost) as well as the implications of saying unkind things both online or face to face and what 'anti-social behaviour' means.
We had a wonderful walk, exploring our local area and appreciating how beautiful it is. Children identified a variety of habitats and enjoyed a picnic too.
On Tuesday we enjoyed a French themed morning and children worked together in vertical age groups. Children enjoyed tasting French cheese, playing traditional French games (including escargot and boule)and making a model of a French landmark out of spaghetti and marshmallows.
Year 6 enjoyed a picnic on the way before having an exciting afternoon sailing at Neptune's Marina. The children sailed up to the Orwell Bridge and back again under the guidance of the amazing instructors at the Marina.
