On this page you will find details of what we are doing in school. Keep coming back to this page to find details of what is happening.
We've continued our focus on Outdoor Learning. Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed our Forest Schools activities. All Y5 and Y6 pupils completed Bikeability and we planted winter vegetables and spring bulbs.
By dressing up in yellow, spotty and/or Pudsey-themed clothes today we raised money for Children In Need. Y6 pupils led our assembly and explained who the charity helps and how.
This morning Rev Liesbeth led a service for KS1 and then one for KS2 at St Andrew's Church. Children laid wreaths at the alter and joined with reflections, poems, prayers and songs.
On Wednesday, every class enjoyed special Outdoor Learning activities. In the morning Cygnet, Melissa and Edith May classes walked to Pinmill. On the way, the children became nature detectives and enjoyed observing plant life and collecting leaves. In the afternoon they created leaf art and planned nature narratives.
In the afternoon Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils set off on a mission to clear rubbish from a stretch of the shore of the River Orwell. We were grateful for the help of Mr Stanley, who provided litter grabbers and guided the operation.
In school children learn about the importance of caring for our environment and it was great to take this further to enable children to engage in positive action in the local community. We know we are fortunate to have such amazing surroundings close to our school and we want our pupils to value the natural environment and take action to conserve this habitat. Children were amazed by how much rubbish they found, filling 24 recycled bags. Among the most unusual finds were a boot and a traffic cone.
All children had an enjoyable and interesting day - a big thank you for the help of all the parent volunteers who supported us.
