On this page you will find details of what we are doing in school. Keep coming back to this page to find details of what is happening.
We've continued our focus on Outdoor Learning. Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed our Forest Schools activities. All Y5 and Y6 pupils completed Bikeability and we planted winter vegetables and spring bulbs.
After our end of term assembly, where we celebrated achievements and sang a favourite song, we ended another successful term with one of Chelmo's traditions - our Easter Egg hunt. Despite the mud and the rain, children - in pairs with older pupils helping younger ones - dashed with determination in search of eggs.
Today was our Easter Service led by Rev. Liesbeth at St Andrew's Church. KS1 made a special wreath which was placed at the altar. Edme class enacted the Stations of the Cross and we all enjoyed singing our favourite Easter Hymns. On these occasions, our older children walk to and from church with younger pupils. At our wraparound club, children made Easter Decorations for a window display.
Today we entered 24 runners for the Westbourne Area schools cross country race. It was a fantastic opportunity for children to compete in an inter schools event. We were delighted to be supported by so many parents who came to cheer the children on. All competitors should be pleased with their efforts, both as individuals and representing their year team.
Fun, inspiring and creative! We have all be adjectives today, as we celebrate the wonderful world of books. There were children who were agricultural, stealthy, fragile, camouflaged, creative, contagious, compostable, nostalgic and much more!
Parents and carers joined us first thing to share books, we held a competition for the best words and costumes (Mr McGinn won the teachers' competition), Rev Liesbeth's assembly was about a most important book - the bible and we held a book swap so that everyone has a different book to take home to read.
We had another successful Outdoor Learning Day today.
Key Stage 1 enjoyed a river walk and carefully completed a scavenger hunt whilst learning about the nature around us at this time of year.
KS2 enjoyed a wide range of activities which included planting onion sets, measuring the height and girth of trees, sound experiments and much more!
