We've continued our focus on Outdoor Learning. Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed our Forest Schools activities. All Y5 and Y6 pupils completed Bikeability and we planted winter vegetables and spring bulbs.

    Tue 26 Mar 2024 le

This afternoon, parents, pupils and staff were treated to a musical delight, as performers from across the school demonstrated their talents at piano, violin, acoustic guitar and electric guitar in duets and group performances. There was also a much admired cameo staff performer to add to the musical mix.

  • Easter Service at St Andrew's Church

    Mon 25 Mar 2024 le

This morning, we held our traditional Easter Service, led by Rev. Leisbeth, at St Andrew's Church. Year 6 pupils spoke confidently to the congregation - made up of pupils, staff, parents, grandparents and members of the parish - narrating the Easter Story and reading prayers they had written.

After the service, the School Council helped plant two fruit trees and a birch tree in the site of the old school, as part of our joint biodiversity project. We blessed the trees and prayed together.

Well done to our Y4, Y5 and Y6 competitors who showed resilience and courage on Wednesday.

  • Cultural Aspect Day at Chelmondiston

    Mon 18 Mar 2024 le

Today children learnt about what it means to be part of a culture and how lives for people can be different. Children considered what events they celebrate with their family and community and how this might be different for other people. Older pupils discussed whether stereotypes exist and if so, if they are correct.

  • World Book Day 2024

    Fri 08 Mar 2024

For this year's World Book Day, the children were invited to dress up as adjectives (describing words) in what we hoped would be a celebration not just of stories but of language itself.  We were delighted and thoroughly impressed by the children's costume efforts. With adjectives such as, bedraggled, whimsical, compassionate and experimental, the children showed their creativity and ingenuity.  Well done, everyone.

  • Twilight Tales

    Thu 07 Mar 2024

To celebrate this year's World Book Day, we hosted a special 'Twilight Tales' event, in which we invited the children to return to school in the pyjamas for hot chocolate and a bed time story.  The Year 6 children, who read these stories, brought them to life with props, dressing up clothes and puppets.  A wonderful evening was enjoyed by all.  A special shout out for our excellent Year 6 readers.
