We've continued our focus on Outdoor Learning. Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed our Forest Schools activities. All Y5 and Y6 pupils completed Bikeability and we planted winter vegetables and spring bulbs.
KS2 were transported through time this week, when visited by Jezz Meredith, a local Archaeologist. By handling a variety of artefacts/ecofacts from the collection, the children uncovered hidden stories, gaining insights into the daily lives, traditions and aspirations of the people who discarded these items so many hundreds of years ago. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jezz Meredith from Cotswold Archaeology, for providing this exciting and engaging learning experience.
KS1 had an interesting and fun day today, visiting the Cathedral and learning all about the story of Saint Edmund. Children enjoyed enacting the Viking invasion and threat to Saint Edmund, who refused to give up his faith. Children had guided tours of Abbey Gardens and the cathedral. After lunch they made wolf masks. We were grateful for the parent helpers who came with us - a great day was had by all.
