  • Whole school trip to the panto!

    Thu 18 Jan 2024 LE

Today we all had a wonderful time at the panto - Oh yes we did!

Our fantastic PTA helped fund our special treat to go to the Wolsey Theatre.

Before we set off, pupils said they were excited. The performance did not disappoint - we booed and hissed the baddie - King Rat - and cheered, clapped and tapped our feet as we enjoyed the live musical performances.

A highlight for many was when Mr McGinn was called up on stage and put on a super hero cape and mask! At this point, all our pupils were on their feet cheering, laughing and thoroughly enjoying themselves.  We are pleased that Mr McGinn is not going to pursue an acting career and has decided stick with teaching!

I am delighted to report that all the children were a credit to our school by being well-behaved and respectful as well as knowing how to enjoy themselves.  This was a truly wonderful experience and we would to thank our PTA for all their support.

  • Odd Socks for the start of Anti-Bullying Week

    Mon 13 Nov 2023 LE

Today we all celebrated our differences by wearing odd socks. In assembly children learnt about this year's theme 'Make a noise' and thought about the differences between bullying and banter. Children in KS2 explained that there is a difference between fun teasing and joking with friends and then teasing that can cause hurt. Thomas (Y6) told all the children in assembly that 'there is a difference between laughing with someone and laughing at someone'.

  • Outdoor Learning Day

    Wed 12 Jul 2023 LE

Every class enjoyed another Outdoor Learning Day today. The focus was to explore the meaning of our values: Respect, Resilience, Caring, Courage and Equality.

Among the activities, children had to guide each other, one blindfolded, along an obstacle course in our woodlands. In another activity, children collected and identified minibeasts and in another, children worked in teams to stand on an ever diminishing base, without falling off. The final challenge was to Sit Spot; children were encouraged to sit still and absorb the environment using their senses.
